WSA Spring Return to Play Guidelines

As the spring season approaches, the Westlake Soccer Association (WSA) Board of Directors would like to encourage COVID-19 mitigation protocols based on the state of Ohio’s Return to Play guidelines for soccer.

All persons involved in WSA are encouraged to comply with these expectations.

For Player Families:

  • Parents and spectators must check for symptoms of illness identified by the CDC in advance of each practice or game. Any person who exhibits any symptom of illness may not engage in any WSA activity.
  • All parents and spectators should comply with social distancing requirements while watching practices, games or on the sidelines.
  • Parents and spectators must sit on the sideline opposite team benches.
  • Parents and spectators should wear a mask when engaging with others outside their household.

For Players and Coaches:

  • Each player and coach must check for symptoms of illness identified by the CDC in advance of each practice or game. Any person who exhibits any symptom of illness may not engage in any WSA activity.
  • Players and coaches should to comply with social distancing requirements on the sidelines.
  • Players and coaches should wear a mask except as described in the Return to Play guidelines. (Please note: Players and coaches are not required to wear a mask while actively participating in a practice, scrimmage or game.)

WSA encourages players and families to follow guidelines established by local and state public health authorities. WSA guidelines are also subject to change at any time and will be communicated to players and families.

WSA Return to Play Guidelines

Westlake Soccer Association (“WSA”) is committed to player safety during both practices and games.   Accordingly, WSA will follow all applicable guidelines by the State of Ohio, our governing bodies (U.S. Club Soccer and the Ohio Travel Soccer League) as well as any local regulations.

Please review the document below for WSA's specific return to play guidelines for players, coaches and parents/spectators.


Return to Activity Resources

We are excited about the opportunity to return to play; however, we want to stress the importance of complying with the Responsible RestartOhio guidelines from the Ohio Department of Health. It is important we continue to do our part in mitigating the spread of COVID-19.

As part of the return to play procedures, each family will need to read the Infectious Disease Waiver and then acknowledge your acceptance as part of the registration process.
